Nyras Newborn Session
In home newborn sessions have such a special place in my heart. They are so quiet and intimate and I'm able to capture your new family member in the comfort of your home. I was able to capture Nyra before she was born too by taking her parents maternity photos. We went to Stoney Creek Metropark in October, it was 8 in the morning and there was frost on the ground but it was BEAUTIFUL! When Nyra was born in December they booked an in home session and choose the silver package. The silver comes with 20 digital images and though there is no time limit, it normally takes about 45 minutes to an hour. Unlike outdoor sessions which are very prompt, newborn sessions go with the flow. All of my in home sessions include travel up to 20 miles from Rochester Hills, which worked perfectly for this session in Sterling Heights. When I got there, she was just finishing a bottle, giving me time to set up my camera and flash. We started in the living room taking photos of Nyra with mom, dad, and grandma. The living room had a lot of natural light which is perfect for an indoor session. All of the photos wore her out and she quickly fell asleep, now we have to work extra quietly! We headed to her nursery to capture a few wonderful family photos with Nyra sleeping. Then she changed into a newborn outfit that I provided and we ended the session with a few photos of Nyra with her baby blanket, capturing the details: her tiny toes, holding mom and dads finger, and little baby yawns. We all very much enjoyed this lifestyle newborn session and because they hired an affordable newborn photographer, they were able to share the photos with their friends and family all over the world, announcing their new addition.
Let's talk about my newborn outfit options! Newborn photos are best when taken within 3 weeks of birth. With that being said, it can be hard to prepare an outfit for your newborn photos. I've learned that providing a few options for your little one is one less thing you need to worry about. I currently have a fuzzy white outfit with a hat, grey knit overalls, a white lace onesies, a pink lace onesie and a few bows. I do wash the outfits between session and store them in a sealed bin in my office.
