Madalyne & Gabbys BFF session
Oh my goodness! This was SUCH a fun session. Madalyne reached out to me hoping to book an hour photoshoot for her and her lifelong bestie, Gabby. Gabbys birthday was coming up and she LOVES snow so Madalyne decided to gift her with photos, how sweet! After sending over my location guide, Madalyne wanted help picking the best locations for winter, I suggested downtown Rochester, Innovation Hills, Firefighters Park, Slyvan Glen and Troy Farm Park. After some thinking, we decided to start out at Innovation Hills and then head to Troy Farm Park. Maddy told me that the two of them are goofy and laid back and she wanted me to capture some fun/raw memories of them. I thought it would be a fun idea to include some props in their session. As for me and my best friends, we love to play cards, share a beer, have popcorn, etc. It got me thinking, I'm sure Madalyne and Gabby have hobbies together too! After brainstorming with Madalyne she decided to bring a box of pizza and 2 bottles of champagne. Let me tell you, this session was SO MUCH FUN. I came prepared with lot of prompts to get them laughing and comfortable and boy did it work! We were able to capture so many candid memories of the kindergarten besties and even a few posed photos as well. I think we could all use a friend as thoughtful as Madalyne! With that being said, if you've been dreaming of doing a best friend photoshoot, this is your sign to do it!
Let's talk about including props in your session! Sometimes it can be so fun to include props in your session. In my experience, it all depends on your personality and the type of photos you want to receive. I have had newly engaged couples bring champagne to celebrate, women bring baby shoes and ultrasound photos, couples bring their favorite beer to spray each other with, seniors bring instruments, soccer balls, and even cars! If you're considering bringing a prop to our session together please reach out to me so I can prepare accordingly!
